Hotel Plaza

This place feels old-fashioned and a bit rundown. The rooms are okay, but there's very little space, and the staff weren't flexible.

Right across from Plaza Armas, this old historic building has the kind of atmosphere that makes it feel like stepping back into another century. I love places with that sort of heritage, and they're hard to find. The wooden floors and walls make it feel warm and welcoming. A decent breakfast is included in the room rate, too. I'd confidently recommend staying here.

The hotel could use some updating. My room was small and old, the walls were thin enough that I could hear everything between rooms, and there was street noise too. Breakfast was okay, pretty average by Punta Arenas standards. I had a hassle paying in USD. My card only worked as debit, not credit, so I chose cash to save the 19% tax. At reception, they refused two of my bills because they weren't brand new. I got them from an exchange office and am sure any bank in the world would accept them. After I protested, they finally took them.

The rooms were very spacious and extremely clean, and the staff were great.
