Ickota B&B

The place and rooms were good, but we had no running water in our room for two days in a row. That was a major problem when we needed to leave at 6 am for a full-day tour or hike.

The room was modern, clean, and had its own entrance, and the hostel felt quiet and safe. We could park our car there, and the bikes were free to hire, which was great. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh pancakes and scrambled eggs made for us, plus plenty of yogurt, fruit, cereal, bread, cheese, juice, and hot drinks. I can't recommend staying here enough :)

We had a great stay. The place is clean and cute, close to the center, and the breakfast suited us perfectly: eggs, ham, bread, jam, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. One thing to know is that even though the hostel is calm, you may hear a little noise from the bars in the center. The walls seem thin too, though we were lucky to have quiet neighbors. I feel like these minor problems would be similar at almost any hotel near the center, since they all seem to be built the same way. Bring earplugs just in case and you should have an amazing stay.

The patio's a nice place to take a break, and you can rent bikes too. The pool is nice and was basically empty all day. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and have a proper bathroom with a big shower, just right after long day tours. They're cleaned daily. The front entrance is very low profile compared with other hostels around, which is good, but be careful not to walk past it. Caracoles Street is two minutes away, with some of San Pedro's best cafes and restaurants an easy walk beyond that. Everyone on staff is really friendly and easy to miss. Deborah at the front office is great, and she'll try to meet your requests if you ask. You can book tours with her too, which saves the hassle of going from one agency to another.
