Vicuña lodge

The location worked well for us, about a 10-minute walk to the main square, shops, and restaurants, with a tienda across the road for drinks and snacks. There was secure motorcycle parking a few houses away, too. The place was quiet and clean, and we found both the room and bed comfortable and warm. The shower had good hot water, breakfast offered a nice range of choices, and everyone was friendly and helpful.

Sofia was a huge help throughout our stay. She was quick to answer and seemed to be available at all hours, even finding us an affordable taxi after our tour was cancelled at the last minute. For our frequent 4-5am starts, she checked each day whether we wanted a snack bag. Each one had plenty: fruit, granola bars, nuts, juice, biscuits, and crackers, which we really appreciated. Vicuña lodge is a cozy, cute place that feels tucked away from the street, though it's only an easy seven-minute walk to the centre. Two supermarkets are right across the road. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. In the heat, with a two-floor room and air conditioning upstairs, we found it best to sleep upstairs since the unit mostly cools one space. That was fine for us, as we mainly went downstairs for the shower and bathroom. Breakfast included toast, cereal, homemade cake, juice, tea, coffee, and little pots of caramel spread. I think it has a special Chilean name, something like mandzana? I put it on everything and it made it taste great. Can't recommend this place enough.

The pool was great, and everything we needed in San Pedro was within walking distance. The rooms are simple and very clean, though there isn't air conditioning. Such a lovely hotel, with a kind and helpful staff.

The place is clean and conveniently located, and the owner was nice. Before our very early excursion, they left us a food package. The included breakfast was okay, with eggs you make yourself, instant coffee, ham, and cheese. Our room was small with little storage, so we ended up half living out of our suitcases. The bed was medium-soft, the lighting was awful, and it needed a fan in the day. At night we needed an open window or fan. The pool is really just a plunge pool. The shower water got warm but never hot. If you want to sleep past 7:15, don't take a room below the breakfast area. Also, I'm not sure if this happens every Saturday or only the one before Christmas, but there was a public have party at the indoor soccer field from 11pm to 4am. Then the chairs and steps from the breakfast area made noise too, so we barely slept. I wish we'd spent more.
