Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel

The courtyard pool area at the back was peaceful and lovely for relaxing. The location is prime, but the hotel still feels like a quiet escape. Staff were warm and helpful, and I liked the honor bar, made-to-order eggs at breakfast, and strong WiFi for work. We stayed two nights even though we had a midnight flight, just so we could enjoy the hotel for the day. It’s an amazing boutique hotel in Lastarria. The deluxe or suite is worth the splurge, spacious, elegant, very comfortable, and with great AC. Pure bliss, 5/5.

Calling this a five-star hotel is hard to understand. It felt barely like a one-star motel: outdated rooms, an elevator that didn’t work, stale breakfast, and abysmal service. I’d told them about all my luggage when I booked the airport shuttle and was quoted x dollars. At the last minute they doubled the price, even though they already knew how much luggage I had. Luckily, I managed to get an Uber within x amount. At the front desk, nobody offered to help with luggage, even while customers were struggling. Shameful.

The service was outstanding. Isidora and Connie were especially kind and helpful, and I really appreciated that. The courtyard was a lovely spot for breakfast or a drink later in the day, and I enjoyed spending time at the hotel between activities. My room was spacious enough and well appointed, with a huge bathroom. I stayed four nights while visiting Santiago and was glad I chose it. Everything is close by, with dining and bars an easy five-minute walk away. As a solo traveler, I felt good walking around at night. If you like boutique hotels, Casa Bueras is a great choice.

The airport taxi was quoted at $25 when I booked, then they raised it to $50 at pickup, which was really poor on their part. Breakfast was bad, with no proper food, and the fruit, cereals, and everything else seemed stale. The rooms and hotel were awful too. A very bad experience all around.
