We found it decent enough, but don't come expecting much of a hostel feel. Early check-in was possible, and they offered to store luggage for a while after checkout. The private room was a plus, as was the well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom was shared, with tiny ants, spider webs, and a trash bin without a lid that started to smell. WiFi was incredibly unstable even with a repeater in the room. We had to choose between AC and WiFi or charging our devices, since the only place to plug them in was the bathroom. The kitchen TV was on all day, which dragged down the atmosphere for us. We stayed in a private bunk room. As foreigners, we were told we had to pay VAT/IVA unless we paid cash in USD. At the next hostel, they were able to exempt us in the system with a passport and PDI.

My room was right by the outdoor lounge, where there was a punching bag. Guests, children and adults, screamed, played loud videos, and hit it until about 11pm. It was incredibly disruptive, and quiet hours need to be set and enforced. The room was poorly insulated, so cigarette smoke came inside whenever someone smoked outdoors. I also got a knock on my door after 10pm. As a woman traveling alone, I definitely wasn't going to answer, and it seemed questionable that there was no way to contact staff then. I'd been told a packed breakfast could be provided because I was leaving early, but there was no sign of one in the morning. I had also messaged the host with a question through booking and never got a reply.

The staff were extremely helpful before and after my booking, and very understanding when I had to cancel my Santiago trip. When I do make it there, I'll definitely stay here.
