Hotel Blu

The rooms were very bare for what they cost. My apartment had no Wi-Fi, and when I raised it, nobody offered a fix. Even shampoo wasn't provided. It felt like a place to sleep and leave, assuming someone was available to let you out: guests couldn't open the exit themselves, and I had to wait several times when reception was unattended. I booked because the hotel was advertised as being close to Lollapalooza. The TikTok claimed a 7-minute walk, but the trip actually took 25-30 minutes by public transport. That advertising felt misleading. Arriving around 5:00 am was a mess. Though I had prepaid, staff couldn't find my reservation, and the rude service left me waiting at reception for 40 minutes. Management didn't know how to use the Datafast card terminal and had no solution for foreign guests. I also noticed little empathy or trust toward guests, and poor coordination around arrivals.

I woke up with flea bites all over me, and the bed had hair throughout it. The room was much too small for what I paid. A terrible place.

It’s clean and well placed in the center, which makes it handy for a short stay. The rooms have air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. You can get by without speaking English. The single rooms are really small, though. If you have digestive issues, your neighbors will probably know about it.

The shared area was the best part. You can make something to eat there, and the service was excellent too. If you're looking for a snack nearby, pampatar was our favorite place we tried in Chile. Its Italian hot dog was excellent. The hotel is in an ugly area, and the room had an open section in the window. The bathroom was so tight that someone overweight wouldn't be able to shower. Stay here if you need to save a lot; if you can spend 300 or more on somewhere better, I'd recommend doing that.
