Hotel Puerta del Sur

On a rainy day, the hotel left my colleague, who was a registered guest, standing outside in the pouring rain because the staff were busy eating and had closed the doors. Completely unacceptable, and a real lack of basic hospitality and respect for guests.

This is only about the breakfast buffet included with your stay. When I poured orange juice, a large black blob came out of the small spigot. I fished it out of my glass at the table, and it was clearly mould. I showed the waitress and explained where it came from. She poured herself a glass, said she couldn’t see anything, then left the juice on the buffet. There’s clearly a serious lack of hygiene training among the staff, and the containers and other things aren’t being cleaned properly. I shudder to think what else at the restaurant isn’t cleaned properly.

The food and drinks were a real highlight, and the setting was beautiful. Our room was spotless, the bed and sheets were just right, and the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. We also appreciated the attention to detail and the information about the surrounding world. A lovely place to stay, and well located.

Hotel Puerta del Sur made for a great stay. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and there was plenty of parking. We also enjoyed the jacuzzis.
