Breakfast out on the patio was my favorite part of the mornings: coffee, tasty bread and local fruit, with Valpo's colorful hills and the ocean in view. Marisol, the owner, welcomed me with such a warm smile that I felt like family right away. My room was spotless and really quiet, so I slept well every night. Its windows looked onto the interior hallway instead of outside, so I left them open for some air. That worked out fine. El Mirador was such a lovely find in Valparaiso. I'm already thinking about coming back, and would book with Marisol again.

We visited in late May 2012, when winter was coming and there were hardly any tourists around. We were among the only guests, maybe one of two parties staying there. After we arrived in the room we'd asked for and started settling in, the owner offered us a free upgrade to the property's nicest room, at the far edge of it. There was a kitchenette and a deck looking out over the bay and the rest of Valparaiso below.

The owner was lovely, and her service was outstanding. She cleaned our room regularly and even washed and folded our laundry. Breakfast was simple but tasty. I'd definitely come back.

The B&B is kept up well, and you can walk to the attractions easily. Maria is welcoming and knows a lot. Breakfast was fresh and generous, too.
