The rooms smelled bad, the service was poor, and the nightly price was incredibly high. The beds were bad, and there were spiders in the rooms. Not a good experience at all, and I wouldn’t spend my money here.

Breakfast was superb, especially the goat cheese. The dome was warm through the winter nights, and we loved looking at the stars, mostly the full moon, through the ceiling windows. James knows a lot about astronomy, and I highly recommend his star tour. It was great for a full moon night when the observatories are closed. This was a last-minute trip to the Elqui Valley. We booked the Tololo dome on June 16 for the nights of June 17, 18, and 19. James was professional, friendly, and empathetic from the start. The whole place felt peaceful and comfortable, with nice touches, like James playing “Claire de lune” (not sure of the spelling) on the piano during breakfast. If it’s your first time in the Elqui Valley and you’ve wanted to stay in a dome, this place is for you. I’d love to come back someday. :)

A perfect place to slow down and unwind, with a cozy feel, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. They also offer astronomy tours, and the hosts are very friendly. There are new “glamping” options now, too. 🤩

The hosts are great, and the place has a really cozy atmosphere. At night the host also takes care of the cooking and bar.
