I booked a 45-night stay at Icon Inn through Agoda in January 2026 for my parents, who are 70, for March 2026. After asking a friend to visit the property, I realised its location would be inconvenient for them, particularly because one of them will be having eye surgery during the stay. Their medical needs and mobility made me concerned it wasn’t suitable. I explained this to the property manager, who said he’d contact Agoda to see what could be done. Agoda later told me Jack the manager at Icon Inn had said the request couldn’t be accommodated under the non-cancellable, non-refundable policy. I understand the booking terms and wasn’t asking for a full refund. The reservation was made well in advance, the stay was still some time away, and the property had time to rebook. Given the medical circumstances, I asked if they’d consider a partial refund, with cancellation fees if needed. Losing the full $3,000 CAD is very difficult, but I’m still getting a hard no on any refund. They’ll keep all my money. Very sad and unethical, and it shows poor customer service. I don’t recommend them.

They charged us 100 dollars for a lost room card, and strangely wouldn’t let us pay by card. On top of that, the rooms looked very different from the ones in their ads. A very bad experience.

Our stay was much worse than we expected. The accommodation was very basic and uncomfortable, not somewhere I’d choose for a relaxing holiday, and I can’t really recommend Icon Inn based on this experience. The one bright spot was Ms. MJ from housekeeping. She was kind and helpful, and always made sure we had what we needed. Her warmth and hard work made a difficult stay a little easier. Thank you, Ms. MJ. The inn needs major improvements to its facilities and comfort before I’d recommend it.

No complaints about the owner, who replied to every question, and they even let us leave our luggage after checkout. We were also allowed to check ourselves in after 4 am, which was a big plus. Ate MJ cleaned the room every day. It’s in Block E of Chungking Mansion, so there’s no long lift line, just a quick 3-5mins wait to get upstairs. 😁😁😁

Ms MJ, the innkeeper, was very friendly and helpful, always doing her best to make guests comfortable. Thank you, Ms MJ. Icon Inn is on the 16th floor of Block E in Chungking Mansion, along Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. The location is great: the airport bus No.21 stop is only a few steps away, and the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station is across the road. Restaurants, snack shops, convenience stores, supermarkets, money changers and many other shops are all around. It’s a good fit for budget travellers who just need an affordable place to wash up and sleep, spending the day out around Hong Kong and returning at night. Free, fast WiFi is provided, and you can store luggage before check-in or after check-out.
