The receptionists are older, but they were lovely and friendly. Check-in service is available only from 9 a.m. to noon, and they lock the entrance gate at midnight. I booked a single room with its own bathroom for HK$550 a night. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom, you can save another 100 a night. The room was small but clean, with free Wi-Fi, cold drinking water, a fridge, and a washing machine. The air conditioning was so cold it froze me, haha.

It's conveniently located and cheap, and the room was clean, though small and a little drab. They provide shampoo, sort of soap, towels, toothpaste, and a toothbrush, and replace them daily. My air conditioner rattled loudly at first, but after an adjustment it got quieter.

I was thinking about my stay here back in 2007, and it seems to look much the same now. The prices also seem about the same, which is great for such a central part of Hong Kong. It's excellent accommodation if you're learning to travel on a budget. If it feels too basic, there are fancy hotels nearby.

I spent a week here in 2012 and found the room clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff polite and helpful. The price was competitive, and free Wi-Fi was included. It's right in the middle of the shopping district, with a Seven Eleven across the street and a great bakery up the street for breakfast.
