Hotel Katamaran

The view is the one thing I liked. There was no privacy in the rooms, no air conditioning, and the customer service was shockingly poor. After check-in, it felt like they forgot about us. Cristina at reception was often away, and other staff were late or absent too. I regretted paying for laundry. The food wasn’t good enough, and I couldn’t get a full night’s rest. I wouldn’t recommend it unless saving money or barely spending time there is your priority. Calypso hotel and other places are better options. Check elsewhere before booking. It isn’t worth it.

The hotel’s in a great spot, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I lost my headphones, and they found them and are helping me get them back. The electricity issue isn’t the hotel’s fault, since other places in the area have to shut off power too. Don’t let other reviews put you off because of that.

The location is excellent, right by the docks, and the rooms are spacious. Staff were helpful, too. There’s no air conditioning, just fans, and the power cuts out from 5am, so expect an early, sweaty wake-up. Showers are cold, with just a pipe and no shower head. Other guests can be very loud, playing music with their doors open and talking loudly. The sliding doors have big gaps, so you hear everything.

I booked directly with them on WhatsApp four weeks ahead, but when I arrived around 6pm they said there was no room. They offered one in another building, which I wasn’t happy with, so I had to find a last-minute room on Airbnb. It felt like a bait and switch. Others in my group had planned to stay several days but left after one night because the rooms were apparently roasting. I heard ownership may have changed recently, but that’s just hearsay. I didn’t like Capurgana generally and would recommend nearby Sapzurro instead, which I found quieter and more charming.
