Hotel Faranda Express Puerta Del Sol Barranquilla, A Member of Radisson Individuals

The hotel is in a congested spot with busy streets, but the staff were great. Both the front desk and restaurant team were very helpful. My room was spacious, the bedding was wonderful, and the shower pressure was okay. There was no fridge, coffee, or microwave in the room.

Housekeeping left my room immaculate, and the reception staff were friendly. The restaurant was another story. I waited a long time for coffee while the staff stayed in one place, so I had to get up and go to the coffee cart to serve myself or ask them to do it. Breakfast planning was poor too: one day, by 7:30 am, they had run out of the red juice and were serving oatmeal as a drink, even though the restaurant opens at 6 am. Often there was nobody at the buffet entrance to greet guests and let them in, and it could take 5 - 10 min just to be signed in. I booked through Booking and stayed last week, but for some reason it won't let me post this review there. The rooms look antique and haven't been updated, which shows in the dark yellow electrical sockets. The old air conditioning holds a lot of humidity, and a dehumidifier could help. Only one of the two elevators was working.

The pool was amazing, and I really enjoyed it. The restaurants have decent options, but they seemed to have trouble with people paying in cash. The hotel is very dated and the air conditioning doesn't work well, though they do provide a stand fan. There are fast food places, including pizza and fried chicken, two blocks away outside the restaurant, options the hotel doesn't have.

The rooms are nice and comfortable, but the desk staff could be friendlier when you arrive. I gave the restaurant two stars: it took me 20 minutes to place an order while staff hung around hugging each other and paying no attention to my table. They were moody and unfriendly.
