Radisson Hotel Diamond Barranquilla

Five stars from me. The staff were warm and welcoming, and I had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend it.

A lot of the staff speak English, which was great. I had an awesome stay and will come back to this hotel whenever I’m in the city.

Construction all around the property made the room and pool area unpleasantly noisy. Inside my room, the cleaning hadn’t been done properly, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the shower wasn’t working right, so I asked to speak to the manager. Things went downhill from there. We had a coupon for a welcome drink, but it couldn’t be redeemed when we tried. The manager was unhelpful and unprofessional, never apologized for the trouble, and seemed more focused on selling me something than fixing the problems. I’ll be filing a formal complaint with the Radisson corporate office.

The hotel seems like it’s had better days, and the neighborhood depends on which way you walk. One direction looked run-down, while the other was quite nice, so it’s a real mix. The pool itself is nice, though it’s odd that the bar up there has been abandoned. The workout room was very nice in the cool of early morning or evening. What stood out most was the staff, who were always helpful, pleasant, kind, and extremely friendly.
