The receptionist was the one bright spot. The young woman there was lovely and tried hard to make our stay better. Management, though, made no effort to sort things out or make amends. Our first full day, a pipe under the bathroom sink burst and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We’d already unpacked, so we had to move everything to another room. At least one was available. The bigger issue was the Wi-Fi: it never worked on any of our four nights. We reported it on day one, but it still wasn’t fixed after four days. Their technicians left cables hanging from the ceiling. It was absurd and left me unable to work the whole time. I asked for a partial refund and was turned down, even though the listing had promised a connection. They also arranged a taxi from the airport, which I later learned cost twice as much as other services for the same trip. Another way tourists arriving at a Latin American airport can get overcharged. And despite being listed as a twin room, the second bed was a narrow portable cot that barely fit one person and wasn’t shown in the listing. Don’t expect two people to sleep comfortably in it. All in all, a very bad stay.
