Ayenda Hotel Las Palmas

It’s a really affordable hotel, and it was clean with a family feel. For a tourist, it had what I needed: a place to rest, a good location, and somewhere to shower. It’s near the airport in Fontibón. I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Bogotá, and it’ll be my hotel of choice.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there’s even a cute receptionist! 😺 The hotel is fairly close to the airport, in a busy commercial area. I’ll come back if I get the chance.

Water was dripping from the ceiling, and the bathroom itself had a leaking ceiling and a broken door. The trouble started at 1:45 am, when my room smelled like sewage. I’d prepaid for two nights, but the manager at reception only offered an air freshener and refused to move me, saying he wasn’t the manager. I called the administration number and got no answer. I ended up sleeping with the windows and door open, risking theft, and stuffed plastic bags into the bathroom door vents to keep the smell out. In the morning, the receptionist blamed the other manager, saying he should have handled it. When I asked for some recognition or compensation, she said she was only the receptionist and couldn’t do anything. She offered to change my room the next day. A total disappointment. 😔

The staff didn’t seem very well trained, and the room was dirty.
