Hotel Casa De La Vega

The location in the historic center is really good, but the bedrooms were quite cold and the hot water in ours didn’t work properly. Our room had no window, and the facade is covered in graffiti. After leaving, I realized I’d forgotten two items of clothing in the wardrobe. I contacted the hotel the next day to ask how to get them back, but they said they didn’t have them. We exchanged messages several times, and I never got my clothes back. Be aware.

We had two very spacious rooms with really good beds at this nice hotel in La Candelaria. It’s right in the center, with shops, restaurants and the Monserrate funicular all within walking distance. The staff are friendly, though they only speak Spanish. The bathroom is basic and a little dated, but everything works. Breakfast has very little choice and could be better. During the day, the street outside gets swarmed with cars and motorcycles.

We arrived in Colombia and this was our first hotel. The room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel’s courtyard and overall look are beautiful. Even though it’s in the tourist area of Candelaria, our room was very quiet. The location was great too, just a five-minute walk from all the major museums. We couldn’t have chosen better.

We only spent one night and the following morning here, and the included breakfast was lovely with very good service. The hotel seems to have stayed in the family, with the great-grandchildren still owning it. We wanted somewhere central and this really was, so we could walk everywhere. I’d recommend it for a quick trip.
