The hotel is in a good area where I felt safe walking around, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was included, was good, and offered lots of choices. The room service was reasonably priced and excellent, and we had a great time. The hotel helped make our vacation pleasant. A couple of small issues: the carpet looked dirty and had many stains, and the shower doors didn't close all the way, so water escaped. Neither was a deal breaker.

Apart from the check-in, the hotel was okay. The receptionist asked for my ID, and I showed her my cedula de extranjeria (CE), issued by the Colombian authority. She didn't seem to trust it and asked for my passport and ticket. I didn't have my passport with me because I carry my legal Colombian ID instead. I showed her all the IDs I had to prove I was a legal alien, and found the whole thing insulting.

El Chicó is a wonderful location, and this boutique hotel is a real find. The rooms are spacious, well kept, and unusually quiet for a big city like Bogotá. Vanessa was especially helpful, and the concierge service was excellent. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Breakfast was good, and the location was perfect for a relaxing stay. The water bottle in the room fridge cost 11 000, the same price as at the airport.

Park 93 is an easy 8-10 minute walk south, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, and a D1 is about six or seven minutes away for water, juice, or snacks. The area felt safe and lively. I booked online just one day before arrival, and that was easy. They let me check in two hours before the 3 pm time. The reception was comfortable and had a fireplace, with free coffee in the morning and juice in the afternoon. The free buffet breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options, including vegetarian food, plus you could order an omelette. My room was spacious, with nice furniture, comfortable beds and pillows, and good reading lights on both sides of the bed. There was also a mini fridge and bar, though I couldn't figure out how to switch the fridge on, and a coffee machine for one cup that couldn't make tea or more coffee. The room had air conditioning, a safe, and a blanket, which was useful because it gets cold at night. The washroom and shower were great, and hot water came through quickly.
