Hotel Chipichape Inn

Our experience at this “hotel” in one of the best areas of Cali, Colombia was horrible. Before booking, we called to ask about the place, including whether it had hot water. The front desk clerk described the hotel and confirmed it had AC and hot water. We arrived around midnight, registered, paid, and, exhausted with our luggage, climbed the stairs to the lobby and then another 2 or 3 floors to our room. There was no elevator. We wanted a shower, but first had to call the front desk for soap. Then we noticed there were no towels, so we called again. After the clerk brought them, we discovered there was no hot water and called AGAIN. It's unbelievable that basic things like soap and towels weren't ready when we arrived, especially at midnight. The clerk said the hot water heater had apparently been repaired that morning. Then we saw how filthy the room was, with hairs on the sheets and other issues. It didn't look like the pictures, so we decided to leave. We told the front desk clerk, carried our luggage back downstairs, and the clerk had to call the manager or owner to ask about a refund. Since we'd been there less than 15 minutes, they agreed to reimburse us within 10 to 15 business days. It's been almost a month, and we still haven't received the money.
