The ocean and sunset view was lovely, and the location is excellent. The property feels secure, with friendly, helpful security officers at the front door. But breakfast and pool access were frustrating, and the management and staff were poor. We could barely use the tiny pool area. There were only four lounge chairs, occupied every time we tried, except once. Just after we sat down, a maintenance man told us to leave because he'd treated the pool with chemicals, during pool hours. We never got to enjoy it. Breakfast was much the same kind of hassle: the room has about five tables, all taken when we arrived. We stood waiting for around 20 minutes. The food was basic and cold, and didn't feel worth the wait. The room we booked was filthy, so we took photos to show the front desk and asked for another room or a refund. They moved us, but the replacement was smaller and had fewer beds than the type we paid for. They wouldn't offer a partial refund for either the dirty original room or the smaller one. There were five of us, but they issued just one key. Whoever had the key controlled when the others could come and go. If you take it out of the socket by the door, the lights and AC turn off, so the unit gets very hot while you're out and takes a while to cool down again. After these problems, we told the front desk. The men there seemed not to care, ignored us, and didn't apologize or ask what they could do. I emailed property support asking the manager for a partial refund, mainly because we'd ended up in a smaller room than we paid for. Three days later, there was still no reply.

The apartment was spacious and well equipped, and the breakfast was good. From the breakfast room, the view was spectacular, especially the view of the peninsula from the higher floors. The wind can pick up in the evening, and you can hear it howl.

We paid for a fifth-floor apartment with five beds, but when we arrived with our family on July 13 2025 for five days, they first put us on the sixth floor in a dirty place that smelled awful. I complained right away. They then moved us to the nineteenth floor, but that apartment had only four beds. The pool was supposed to close at 6 pm. When we tried to use it around 5 pm, they wouldn't let us in because the pool attendant had put chemicals in it. Breakfast was in a tiny area, and management in the building was really bad. We were all disappointed by what we got for the price and had a very poor experience. You can see how dirty the first apartment they tried to give us was:

On the positive side, the apartment was spacious and our room had a nice view of the port area. The rest of the stay was alarming. We had no hot water for three days and had to contact the hotel several times before they fixed it. The safe didn't work. I reported it on the second day, but it still wasn't repaired after the theft or at any point afterward. Two of the three split AC units didn't work properly. One was fixed, but the living room unit never cooled. The entrance door's security bolt also wouldn't engage. The manager repaired it immediately after coming to the apartment while National Police were there. A hotel housekeeper stole $400 cash, perfumes, and creams from us. She also found my wallet with backup Visa credit and debit cards and cash. Those were taken too, and the employee took photos of the card details or wrote them down. The next morning my bank notified me of a $1,726 purchase on my debit card to a Dominican Airlines the night before. Across the two cards, they attempted more than $9,000 in charges. Management said we didn't need to involve National Police because it wasn't a matter for them. When the first officers arrived, management told us to say we weren't obligated to speak with them. Later they suggested they didn't know whether the card purchases, made while the cards were in MY possession, might have come from some unknown person in another country. Video and electronic key records positively identified the thief, but we were never told what, if anything, was done about the hotel employee. I can't recommend the hotel because of the lack of security for guests and the poor management.
