New Iguana House Hostel

The power went out at 7 PM on my fifth and final night, and by 9 PM it still hadn't come back. My partner, our nine-month-old son, and I had booked a room with AC and a private bathroom. Since the heat was unbearable, I said we would change hostels and asked for a refund. They offered us a room with a fan and shared bathroom instead, but I declined because that wasn't what I'd booked, and one fan in such a small room wouldn't be enough for three people. Aida, who was in charge, said she couldn't process the refund until she discussed it with the manager the next day. I paid in advance and am traveling to Santa Marta, so I hope they respond positively. I can't expose my baby to those conditions.

My friends and I came from Peru, and we were very happy when we left. The room was comfortable and the staff attentive, and I really enjoyed the hostel. Cartagena is beautiful, and we hope to come back. I highly recommend staying here.

The location is great, and my room was comfortable, with AC and a private bathroom. Prices are reasonable, and they also have laundry service and tours. The staff were friendly and attentive, answering whatever questions came up. They made my stay perfect. Highly recommended!

What you see in the photos looks much nicer than the hotel itself. It's in a very noisy area, and the rooms didn't seem fully clean. The place also needs better upkeep and management. They don't provide toiletries when you arrive, and staff don't seem to know what's missing. On top of that, the prices in person are much higher than the website listings. It feels like they're inflating them to deceive tourists.
