Soy Local Insignia

The rooms are spacious and the hotel is beautiful, but noise and staff behavior seriously affected our stay. The location is excellent, close to the tourist area, yet loud music continued until around 2 a.m. and made sleeping difficult. Staff talked loudly at reception late at night, and cleaning in the room next door started at 6 a.m. One incident was especially concerning: at 7 a.m., a cleaner opened our door and entered without knocking or checking whether the room was occupied. She left only after being startled by our flashlight. It's a shame because the hotel has a lot of potential, but guest comfort and privacy need more attention.

I strongly advise against staying at Soy Local Insignia Hotel. The rooms had visible mould and damp, and some had no windows, leaving them stuffy and claustrophobic. Utilities were unreliable: there was no electricity for more than two days, and water was unavailable for long periods. Noise inside and outside continued until 3-4 a.m. every night, making it almost impossible to rest. There were unexpected charges, including a replacement room key fee only disclosed at checkout. Fixtures were poorly maintained, with loose toilet seats, for example. Street vendors were allowed to come into the hotel and approach guests, which felt intrusive and unprofessional. There was no security at the front desk and no lift in the building. Breakfast was poor quality. The hotel failed to provide basic comfort, safety, and transparency, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Gorgeous hotel in an excellent location. We stayed here twice while traveling around Colombia, and both stays were equally good. I'd highly recommend it.

Be careful with this property. I booked through booking.com in November, then canceled at the beginning of October while still within the free cancellation period. Almost two months and 37 working days later, I still haven't received my refund. Today I spent more than an hour on the phone with booking.com trying to get my money back.
