Vista Mare Beach House

The beach is the real draw: soft sand and clear water, with a laid-back setting that makes it easy to swim or just relax. There are shaded spots and comfortable loungers, and everything seemed well cared for. We also had wonderful service from the friendly, attentive staff, and the sea views are beautiful. It’s become one of my favorite places for a sunny day away. Highly recommend it.

We had a great two-night stay. The grounds are nicely kept, with plenty of cool little spots to enjoy, and the accommodation itself is fantastic. The restaurant food was solid, though we liked some dishes more than others, and the cocktails were nice too. Staff were kind and helpful, even bringing a phone over when I couldn’t work out how to say something. They really went the extra mile, including kindly picking us up outside the usual hours.

The bed had bugs and worms on it several times, which made it hard to sleep. On top of that, loud music from nearby places carried on until 3 a.m. Some of the staff were warm and attentive, especially with my 3-year-old daughter. Isabella was outstanding and kept checking that we had what we needed. The service overall was still disappointing, though. Manager Alejandro seemed disengaged from guest concerns and focused on personal activities, just eating and spraying cats. Food took at least 30 minutes and often arrived cold. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but don’t expect quick service. The food was also poor value for the high prices. Portions were small and often cold, and the cost was hard to justify. Staff might agree if you ask them. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. A day visit could be worth considering, but for a better experience you may want to return to the city.

Very, very unpleasant experience, and I definitely can’t recommend this place. We were told our room would be ready at 11, then waited another two hours. It started raining while we waited, and the luggage storage they provided left our bags soaked, including clothes, electronics, books, and other things. There was no hot water, and the beach was full of garbage. After one night, we asked for a refund for the other four nights, but the hotel refused without explaining why. We requested their cancellation policy, which they wouldn’t provide, even though that was their only reason for denying the refund. We pointed out the applicable law, but they still relied on the policy they had not shared. The staff were pleasant, though.
