Aqua Ecolodge

The view over the lake is beautiful, and there are activities like jet ski, banana, and kayak. Everyone was nice and ready to help with whatever we asked. We had a fantastic stay at Aqua ecolodge and will be back sooonnnn!

Awful place and service. I booked through Booking.com and received a confirmation, then the hotel emailed asking for 50% upfront. They sent bank details and contact information for proof of payment. After I sent the proof, they said the account was no longer in use and was wrong. They told me to pay 100% into a different account and ask Booking.com for a refund. First they said they’d request that refund, then told me to wait until I deposited the rest before they continued the reservation. They never explained anything further and stopped answering my messages. On the day of my reservation, they said the hotel was closed. Now nobody is taking responsibility for returning my money.

There are several things to do right at the hotel. I tried horseback riding, boating, kayaking, and fishing, and it’s a lovely place to get away from everyday life. It’s surrounded by nature and Lake Guatapé in a privileged location. The rooms are comfortable, with wonderful views, the food service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly.

IT'S A SCAM We got details about the hotel's services and amenities on WhatsApp and paid the full amount to book. On Thursday, September 17th, while we were on our way there, we contacted them in the same chat and were told they weren’t operating because of a supposed Covid outbreak. For five days, they kept saying our refund “claim” was “in process.” Then they blocked us on WhatsApp so we couldn’t follow up, and took our money. A truly awful experience with these people!
