The lady at checkout was kind and friendly. The person who checked us in was rude and dismissive, and we felt like a nuisance when we asked for help with the hot tub, which wasn’t working. We were moved to another room, but it hadn’t been cleaned: there was pet hair, dust, cobwebs, and bugs. Its hot tub worked, but the water was filthy brown, so we didn’t feel comfortable using it. We also had to chase them about breakfast in the morning because nobody told us about it. We booked through Airbnb, which listed the address as Guatapé even after the booking was confirmed. The property is actually near el Peñol, not in Guatapé. When we raised the address problem, we were ignored. Since we didn’t have free cancellation, we had to stay there, far from Guatapé. The host suggested walking from the main road, but it meant taking a dark dirt track for about 10 minutes, which was hard with luggage and felt unsafe. The host also suggested walking from the main road. For what we paid, we expected a nice treat, but the stay was bad from beginning to end.

The location is all right, though the road there is in very bad shape. The place is beautiful, which makes the problems frustrating. We had a leaking toilet and reported it, but they didn’t even offer a mop. There wasn’t toilet paper or toothpaste, and we saw cockroaches in the room and shared areas, which made us question the hygiene. Breakfast was included in our booking, but we never got it. When we arrived, nobody greeted us; we could hear staff nearby but had to go find them ourselves.

Mrs. Yamile was friendly and attentive to what we needed, thank you. The hotel is peaceful, pleasant, and clean, with easy access and a location close to El Peñol Rock and Guatapé. I’d suggest contacting them before you arrive so they can get everything ready, and asking for a parking space.

The breakfast was good, and the hotel is in a nice location, but it’s very isolated and we couldn’t get any rest. Our room was divided from the cafeteria by a thin wooden wall, so we heard music and other noise. Construction workers started making a racket at 7 in the morning. The upstairs suite’s jacuzzi motor was deafening, and one night it ran nonstop, apparently because it had broken, so we couldn’t sleep. The owner said he’d refund us for that night, but never did. I wouldn’t come back.
