Vivanti Resort

The views are stunning, and the staff were good, but I still wouldn't recommend this place. The road in is a risky, narrow, unpaved track with mud and slippery stones. The design is beautiful, though the hotel isn't in the best condition, and the pool and jacuzzis sometimes malfunction. After a hot day outside and in the pool, the rooms without air conditioning were uncomfortable. There was only an old, noisy fan, and sleeping often meant leaving the window open, if your room even had one. That also lets in mosquitoes, and there are plenty around. For me, the inconvenience and risk aren't worth the views.

The food was fantastic overall. We both ordered steak one night. Hers was good, while mine was a bit chewy, though it tasted good and I finished it. We also felt an earthquake one morning, but there was no damage. After seven nights here, we had a fantastic, peaceful stay and would happily return. The views are spectacular, with beautiful nature all around. There aren't many activities on the property, but they can arrange several water activities, and town isn't too far, with plenty to do nearby. Everyone on staff was kind and professional. The manager has trained the team well, and even showed us his little secret spot, but don't tell him I said that. A DJ played a couple of days and was very nice, and good at his job, I guess lol. One day there was extremely heavy, long rain, and my room leaked a little, which seemed reasonable given the downpour. I highly recommend the place.

I'd suggest arranging transfers and other activities directly with the resort, since getting out can be difficult if you're planning to use Uber. The food and drinks were very good, and the service was top notch. It's a beautiful place, and I'll definitely be back.

The "Presidential Suite" wasn't fit for a dog. I left the keys at the desk, skipped the night, and found a respectable hotel instead. The photos make this place look like a beautiful lie. When I called them out, they refused to compensate me and said it was my fault for believing a video online, even though it came from their own website. This place is a dump.
