The location is ideal, close to everything. Katherine, the Venezuelan woman, was very kind and helpful, though Laura's service wasn't very helpful. The rooms need better cleaning: the walls were dirty, bathrooms grimy, some toilets had no seats or bowls, and the rooms lacked windows for ventilation.

The service could have been better, and the room cleaning needs improvement. The next day I got a rash, which is unusual for me. I have dust mite allergies, so I thought it might have come from the blankets and sheets.

We decided to cancel and leave after the owners offered us a bucket of water to bathe with. We had no water that night, or the next morning, and even after we went out for a while so they could turn it on, the situation was still the same when we returned. This essential problem hadn't been mentioned in the listing. On arrival, the bedclothes were stained, covered in hair, and smelled bad. Honestly, it's the worst place we've ever stayed.

We stayed just one day, and the room cleanliness was almost nonexistent. The blankets and towels were dirty and stained, and the bathroom bin still had residue from previous guests.

We've been back to Don Julio Hotel a thousand times and recommend it highly. It's right by the main park, with a spectacular view, and the room was lovely, clean, and decorated in a distinctive way. The owners and staff are friendly and attentive, and took good care of what we needed, making our stay very pleasant.
