Hostel La Rosa Nautica

The hotel is beautifully designed and very affordable, with a lovely staff. The furniture, much of the tiling, and the decorations show fine artisanal woodwork. When I mentioned that my motorcycle had gotten stuck in the mountains, a staff member's relative turned up an hour later in a Land Rover to tow it back and help me get it repaired. It took around four hours, and he wouldn't accept anything for it. We hung out afterward and had fresh-squeezed orange juice. The place felt like a bargain and a blessing, with delicious breakfast and lots of dining options nearby.

The staff were very friendly and knew the area well. It's a hostel, but we got a private room with its own bathroom. The photos don't show the private parking lot next door.

There's a kitchen guests can use if they want to cook, and the terrace has pool tables and hammocks in a really pleasant setting. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the facilities are excellent. Parking is available, and the hotel is only two blocks from Guaduas's main square. The staff are very friendly.

The place itself is nice, but a few things need attention. The games room is poorly kept, and the pool table is broken and can't be used. The club's pool was filthy and cloudy even on a weekday when it wasn't very busy. Worst of all, my family and I got gastroenteritis after drinking water served at reception. We saw the young man filling the bottle from the tap, and by then we'd already had quite a bit.
