Hotel Verony Guatape

The stay was decent until a maid knocked over my expensive cologne and it spilled and broke. When I brought it up, they seemed not to care and even thought it was funny. The front desk did nothing and didn't reimburse me at all. I wouldn't stay here again. I'm not happy or impressed.

The hotel is outside Guatape, near Piedra del Penol, which is definitely worth visiting. We also found Guatape itself well worth the trip. At Hotel Verony, we had nice views and a mostly quiet stay, though that depends on the other guests. Service was very good, and our rooms were clean and as advertised, including hot water. One sink handle came off in one room and water made a mess, but the staff fixed it and cleaned everything up right away. The "jacuzzi" was barely warm when I tried it, though on a different day the water was hot for others in our group.

The pool speaker was turned up to max volume, which some people may like and others may not. The rooms also had white lighting like an office building. I'd recommend switching it to a warmer color.

We really liked the view from our room, and the location is well centralized. The staff were friendly, and I enjoyed breakfast.
