Hotel Boutique Rosse

The cabins are big and have everything you need for a getaway, and it’s kid friendly. Breakfast is great, with good choices for eating and drinking. You’re just 5 minutes from La Vega and fairly close to Bogota, but far enough from the noise.

Good.

Katherine, one of the hotel employees, was especially attentive. She explained what the hotel offers, showed us around, and took good care of the dogs. Four dogs greet you at the entrance, and as far as I can tell, they’re well cared for. Service was good, and there’s a varied menu, though you should check your budget. It’s a great place to stay midweek or in the off-season.

The pool, pleasant weather, and closeness to Bogotá make this a good spot for a day visit. I wouldn't choose it for an overnight stay, though. Our room had one mattress as stiff as a board, another that literally sagged, and a third that was somewhere in between. There was no hot water, and nights or the time after swimming can feel a little cool. The rooms also have no internet. The food wasn't bad, but how quickly it came out seemed to depend on luck. We waited an hour for three hot dogs and patacón baskets that turned out to be MINI, with cold cheese (photo attached). There's also a “boutique” with no prices displayed, stocked with SHEIN or Temu packages that they open right there at the entrance.
