Urbit Social Loft

The location made it easy to explore Medellín, and our room near the top floor had a beautiful city view. Breakfast and the restaurant were both very good, too. Most of all, the whole team made us feel welcome and were so kind and helpful. Mariana, Alsy, Natalia, the night security guard, and the housekeeping team were all wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at Urbis Las Medellín. Thanks again for such a memorable visit.

There are loads of restaurants nearby, and the location felt safe and convenient. Our room had two twin beds, a kitchenette, a private bathroom and an extra sofa bed. The staff were really nice and accommodating. We also thought the included breakfast was varied and tasty, and it comes from the next-door restaurant Mekong, which offers room service as well. We paid a very decent price for a clean, lovely, hip place. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Urbit Social Lofts.

The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the modern design and big window brought in lots of natural light. Housekeeping came every day and did an excellent job, and our few front desk interactions were fine. The restaurant breakfast was light but good, though it ends at 10am, which didn’t work well after arriving at 2am. As a place to sleep, the hotel was perfectly fine, but there’s nowhere else to hang out or relax, so it may not suit you if that’s what you want. For the price, they could improve some basic comforts. The room really is tiny, with barely any space for clothes, especially for two people, and a very small bathroom. The kitchenette felt unnecessary with so many cafes and restaurants around. Water isn’t complimentary. There’s a minibar bottle for sale at five times the usual price, or the nearest store is three blocks away. There’s coffee, but no water provided to make it, and the coffee maker was the worst I’ve used. They say the tap water is drinkable, but as a tourist from another country I wasn’t comfortable with that. The towels were small, thin and scratchy, and there was no facecloth. I should have remembered to pack one since they’re not common in Latin America.

Everything was clean, from the outside of the hotel to the room, and the housekeeping staff were friendly, professional and clearly proud of their work. The location was convenient for eating out, with plenty of restaurants close by. The hotel is comfortable and well maintained, but the front desk could be better. The staff weren’t necessarily rude, though they seemed undertrained in hospitality. More attention to customer service and efficiency would improve the experience. With that, this could be an even better stay.
