Hotel Huito

We tried four hotels in Leticia, and this was easily the worst stay I've had. The room was tiny, there wasn't even a towel, toilet paper, or soap, and the shared areas were filthy, covered in erotic paintings of naked women. There were holes in the bathroom ceiling. Just don't.

The friendly service, security cameras, Wi-Fi, and good price kept me coming back many times. The Wi-Fi is currently only in the lobby. On my last visit, though, the neighbor's dog barked more than any dog I've ever heard, and I had to leave for another hotel. It cost less, but didn't have AC. Colombians seem amazingly tolerant of barking dogs. I'm not.

For the price, I was really pleased. The bed was comfy, the shower was decent, and there's a pleasant central courtyard with big tables where you can work on a laptop. The pool and helpful staff, including Monica, are nice too. Wi-Fi is patchy, but still better than most of Leticia. It's a great little hotel near the centre, right beside El Punto de la Arepa. Their toasted, filled arepas were so good I became a fan, best in town, maybe even Colombia 😎

The air conditioning was very good, and the place was well kept and conveniently located. It was comfortable and fairly priced. I missed having breakfast, and the Wi-Fi was basically useless, though that might be a regional issue.
