Waldor's Hotel Boutique

We liked it enough to come back for our last night in Leticia. The reception was friendly, the room comfortable, and breakfast was good.

This is a decent, affordable option if you’re after the basics and a local feel. The hotel is clean and simple, more like a house than a traditional hotel. My room had a desk, wardrobe, and air conditioning, but no hot water. Some rooms look onto the interior hallway, which could mean less privacy or light, depending on what you prefer. Breakfast was basic but welcome. The person at the front desk seems to cover most things, so service can feel stretched, though they were polite and helpful. I didn’t use them, but the hotel offers or helps arrange Amazon jungle tours and other local activities. One thing to keep in mind: arriving before official check-in costs 10,000 COP per hour.

The fruit plate for vegan breakfast was great, but breakfast was just that, with no oats or cereal and alternative milk, even though I’d let them know ahead. Some staff were friendly, others less so. The rooms are very nice, but not set up like hotel rooms: you get a useful desk and fun lighting, but no fridge, microwave, or iron. I liked the El Poblado-style design, especially the tracking lights on the stairs and the modern Art Deco hallway. It’s a couple of blocks from the parakeet phenomenon at Santander Park, though the sidewalks come and go and there are puddles everywhere. Next time I’d look for somewhere more central, closer to shops, the museum, and the boat boarding area. I liked the Amazon-style hotels with local Indigenous items and artifacts.

The area felt pretty safe, and although it’s on a main street, it wasn’t loud. Good location, really friendly staff, and a very nice breakfast with a range of local options.
