574 Hotel

We were near Parque Le Poblado, and breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit. On the evening of the 7 December festival, they gave us two candles so we could join in. Everyone was very friendly, too.

We really appreciated being able to check in an hour early. The hotel feels new, and everything was clean and modern. It's just a short walk to bars, shops, and restaurants. As someone traveling light, I especially valued having shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer in the room. The Wi-Fi was reliable, the shower stayed hot, and Netflix was a nice extra. Laundry was available for a fee, too. Breakfast was tasty.

We left right away because the room smelled strongly of humidity, and within half an hour both my partner and I felt unwell. He was at risk of an asthma crisis if we stayed. It seemed clear the hotel knew about the issue, yet still thought it was acceptable to give us that room. The receptionist didn't apologize and seemed aware of the problem. She offered only a partial refund, keeping 5%, and her almost sarcastic manner made us feel unwelcome. We were surprised this place gets such positive reviews. If we'd been met with genuine understanding, an apology, and a willingness to deal with the problem, I wouldn't be writing this. Instead, the attitude made us eager to leave, and frankly it seemed that was exactly what they wanted. I can't understand how the hotel keeps such high ratings. It was deeply disappointing.

I spent five days here and would happily come back on my next trip. The location was close to everything I needed, and breakfast was delicious with lots of options. My room was spotless and beautifully decorated, and the bed was really comfortable. Highly recommend it.
