The room felt bleak rather than stylish, with noisy neighbors, dirty surfaces, and lights that didn't work. We arrived a little early and got a stiff “come back at 3 PM” response instead of a warm welcome. When we asked for a cab, someone who may have been security, lounging on the couch, told us to flag one down ourselves. Service was basically nonexistent. The photos make the place look impressive, but in person it reminded me of someone trying for The Standard Hotel in Los Angeles and missing by a noisy, grimy margin. We booked two nights and could only stand one before moving somewhere quieter and more competent. If you're deaf, don't mind poor cleanliness, and don't care about hospitality, maybe it's your kind of place. For everyone else, hard pass.

My second-floor room had a lot of road noise, but it was great value, with good rooms and pleasant service. The food and breakfast at the fabulous 10th-floor restaurant jacuzzi zone were disappointing.

The service and hotel were good, though there's room to improve. Street noise came into the room because, while the windows themselves were strong, the hinges didn't seem fitted tightly. At breakfast, cereal was served in coffee cups instead of bowls. A couple of hooks just outside the shower would also make it much easier to hang towels.

The room was great, and the other employees were smiley, which is why I'm giving five stars. I didn't like the attitude or manners of the young receptionist with lots of ear piercings, though. He didn't make me feel welcome. I hope the manager retrains him and points out what he's doing wrong.
