Hotel Park 10

The location near good restaurants was the one thing we liked. With so many hotels nearby, I’m sure we could have found a better one. On our last night, we found a cockroach in the bath. We told reception at checkout the next morning, but got neither an explanation nor an apology. The staff just spoke to a colleague in Spanish. I can only assume they weren’t surprised by it, perhaps because the bath leaked and the bathroom stayed damp. The room situation was uneven: one of our two rooms was acceptable, while the other looked worn and dated. Its bath panel was broken and kept falling off, and water leaked across the bathroom floor. Scuff marks suggested the hotel knew about the problem and had tried to fix it. There was nowhere to hang clothes except in the bathroom, which had no extractor fan, so everything stayed damp. The toiletries were very cheap and didn’t feel right for a 4- or 5-star hotel. We were four people split between the rooms. When the porter showed us in, the second room had prepared a tip, but as we left the first room he demanded one. A tip should be voluntary. The staff in general weren’t especially friendly or helpful. We put the face towels on the floor as instructed, then went without replacements for two days. We had to ask reception twice before they reluctantly gave us new ones. The sauna and steam room area seemed neglected and in need of renovation. We stayed in the steam room for an hour and it never warmed up. Breakfast was okay, but the hot choices were limited and the coffee was awful, especially for a hotel in the coffee region. From beginning to end, this fell well short of what we expected from a 4- or 5-star place.

Provenza is only a few minutes away on foot, with lots of good cafes and restaurants nearby, and the location made Park 10 Hotel a great base. The room was spotless, the internet was fast and dependable, and breakfast had a nice range of choices. The front desk team were warm, attentive, and ready to help. I had a comfortable, pleasant stay in every way, and this will be my first choice when I’m back in Medellín.

We ended up wishing our 10 days could have lasted longer. The jacuzzi was fantastic, breakfast was delicious, and the location worked really well. Aura the cleaning lady was amazing, and everyone on staff deserves a thank you. 10/10 👌

The WiFi was awful, with no reliable connection in either the room or the gym. If you’re here for work, don’t count on a stable or fast connection. The location is handy for shops and restaurants, and the hotel has a nice feel. The rooms are pleasant, though the mattress is hard. There’s a pillow menu. The toilet setup is odd too, right beside the bed behind glass doors. Breakfast gets 4/5 from me, with plenty to choose from. At the front desk, there was a lot of whispering and confusion, and the staff seemed distracted. They could pay more attention to guests. Other comments mention the same thing, so I hope management notices the pattern and acts on it.
