LIN Boutique Hotel by HOUSY HOST

The rooms are clean and modern, the neighborhood is amazing, and the service was decent. Breakfast wasn’t the best, but the hotel itself is fantastic. The problem is the nonstop noise. Even with earplugs, the bass shook my bed until 3:30 AM. I got no sleep. Maybe they should buy the nightclub and reinvent it. For now, look elsewhere if you want to sleep.

I was exhausted throughout my trip to Medellin because the rooftop bar, which is basically a nightclub, played extremely loud music until 2 am. As a solo female traveler, I need to make good use of the daytime since it still isn’t safe for me to walk around alone at night. The noise and lack of sleep really ruined the trip. I booked the seventh floor, but on my first night the staff moved me to the fourth floor by 10 pm because the music was so loud. The second night was just as bad, so I moved to the second floor. The bar is on the eighth floor, and even down on two I could hear the bass and music clearly through earplugs. The hotel also refuses to refund me so I can go somewhere quieter where I can actually sleep. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Location, location, location, and great service. The manager who runs the place was fantastic when I lost my bank card and helped me get cash through my US bank account. Breakfast until 11am was delicious, rich food. The only issue was the club next door. You can hear music on Fridays and Saturdays, but only those two days, and it isn’t the hotel’s fault. Five stars from me otherwise, and I’ll stay again.

The rooftop bar was a lovely extra, with city views that made it a nice place to relax over a drink. My room was comfortable too, especially the cozy bed and spacious shower with strong water pressure. Breakfast was fresh and had plenty of choice each morning. The staff were welcoming from the minute I arrived and always willing to help. The hotel is also well placed, a few minutes from the main attractions, with a lively, safe-feeling neighborhood full of bars and restaurants. I had a great stay and would come back.
