The Cut Hotel

The architecture is brilliant, and I loved all the thoughtful details and tasteful design in the room. The staff seemed well trained, welcoming in the usual Colombian way, and also very responsive and efficient whenever I had a question. I spent a couple of nights here and think the hotel has real potential to become one of Medellin’s best places to stay. There’s an excellent commercial boulevard on the first floor that runs from one street to the other, and I can’t wait to return and try all the restaurants that are opening there.

The location is ideal, close to the action without being right in the middle of it. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are clean, the food is great, and the hotel has a nice vibe and ambience. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Esteban at the front desk, who’ll help with anything you need. It’s even a great place to stop for a drink on a night out. I’ll return.

The suite had a very comfortable king-size bed, and it stayed quiet despite construction still going on nearby. I liked the hot tub, though the shower water needs calibrating because it swings between too hot and too cold. The TV only works through apps like Netflix, Prime Amazon, and YouTube. You have to sign in with a QR code, and it disconnects when you turn the TV off. The hotel is in safe Manila, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. I also liked the building and lobby design, especially The Sun sculpture at the entrance by well-known Colombian artist Edgar Negret. The Front Desk team were courteous, kind, and helpful. At the entrance level, Casa Pepe, Pergamino, and Buba Burgers all serve delicious food and have good service. A Brewery is coming soon, and the rooftop will open soon too. My husband and I had a wonderful stay and will come back to see all the spaces fully open.

Awful stay. There were multiple stains on the carpet, the place was dirty and unfinished, construction was going on, and we had trouble getting hot water in the shower. I tried to check out early, and the manager said I’d get a refund if the third-party booking company requested it. I made the request, but The Cut Hotel still hasn’t refunded me. Be careful, there are plenty of other places.
