The reception service was good, and we liked the large, clean, pretty room and its balcony terrace with a hammock. The hotel is on a quiet street, less than a 10-minute walk from the city center. It’s a lovely place, though it could use some renovation. The pillows were moldy, and the shower was just a pipe, so that could probably be upgraded.

The location is about 15 minutes from both the beach and the main street with its restaurants, bars, and shops. The room was clean and nice, and they offer free coffee all day. Breakfast included fruit, juice, eggs, bread, and coffee. The bathroom has no ceiling, and its door is made of thin wooden slats, so there’s basically no privacy. I wouldn’t choose it if traveling with someone. Also, don’t take the tours recommended at the hotel, they’ll cost you around 30% more. If they suggest a restaurant, I’d just head to the main street and pick one there. There are lots of good options, like Bitácora.

The setting is basically in the jungle, which was fantastic for experiencing the real Palomino and relaxing, and the restaurants and beach are still within walking distance. We had a beautifully designed, spacious, very clean room with a balcony. The owner welcomed us and shared interesting recommendations for Palomino and insights about colombia. Breakfast was delicious, and they were very flexible about timing. We’d definitely stay here again when we return to Palomino.

I came up from the beach to eat at the restaurant in a bathing suit and sarong. It isn’t a particularly fancy place, and most of the tables were empty, but when I asked if I could eat there, they laughed and said only if I was staying at the hotel. Extremely rude. It felt like something out of “Pretty Woman”.

We paid for three rooms for nine nights, then went to Alta Guajira for three days, leaving our personal belongings in the rooms. When we returned, our rooms had been rented to someone else, and our things had been taken without our permission. Terrible experience. We don’t recommend it.
