Praba Hostel

The free yoga and dance classes were the only nice part for me. The location is pretty, but it gives a misleading impression. I found out only after checking in and paying that private rooms have no internet, and there are no refunds. I’d come to work in peace, but the beach was quiet only during yoga. The rest of the day, Bad Bunny was so loud you couldn’t hear the waves. Whenever I asked reception for something reasonable, I got a firm no. A router to get internet to my room? No sir, that won’t be possible. A table to work at? No. Hot water or coffee? No, no, no. Then they suddenly wanted to make me wear a wristband. It was a nonrefundable nightmare. Breakfast is tiny, and the pool is so shallow you can’t swim. It feels like a pool for little children in an adult hostel.

There’s a private beach, and it’s about a 5 minute walk to the local high street. The bus drop-off is around 20 minutes away on foot. Praba Hostel was a fine place for our time in Palomino, though the small breakfast portions left us hungry. With no WiFi in the rooms, everyone seems to use their phones in the lobby, and the lack of free drinking water is hard to accept. Door mats in the cabanas would help with the sand, and perhaps a water cooler in the lobby with an honesty system could provide drinking water.

A longer walk to the beach than we expected was the one downside. The rest of the experience felt fully perfect, with comfortable bedding, good activities, and an ideal location.

I really came to hate this hostel after staying there a long time and seeing how it was run at its worst. If you want a social hostel at a medium price, one of the more economical options in palomino, you could stay for like 2-3 nights. Just be prepared for terrible showers with almost no water pressure and no shower heads. THE KITCHEN IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND RUN DOWN. If you won’t use it, it should be fine (:
