The food was fresh and really good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The grounds are lovely, right by the beach. The room felt very basic for what it cost, though. There was no hot water anywhere on the property, and after 8pm we couldn't get a hot drink because the kitchen was closed and there was no coffee machine in the room.

Mandala was a huge step up from the other resort I stayed at before it. I didn't know the Palomino area, and my expectations were low, so the place really surprised me. The front desk had a welcoming feel, and people were very accommodating. The room was clean, the bathroom and shower were big, and the bed and sheets were really comfortable. I liked having a private beach, too. The food was good and reasonably priced. Drinks could be better, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. The service and wifi were the weak points. If they could fix those, even knowing that might be hard in that area, I would've stayed for the whole week.

The beach is great, and there are nice places around the property to sit and unwind. The little houses are cozy, and the food was tasty. From the beach, it's just a short walk to Palomino's beach bars and restaurants. We'd happily come back to Playa Mandala and would recommend it for a quiet stay.

The bed in the beach bungalow was too small for European sizes, and there wasn't warm water. Still, this is a lovely place to unwind, in the best spot on the Palomino beach. The staff are really friendly and the food is delicious. Recommended if you're after a simple, peaceful stay.
