Hotel Campestre Villa Juana

We couldn’t sleep because a party was going on at a finca next door. The rooms had no a/c, and it was much too hot to sleep with the doors and windows shut. We opened the windows and balcony doors to try to cool off, but it didn’t help. The staff had promised the night would be cool, and it wasn’t. We were meeting my in-laws there, and the staff threatened to charge them for day stays after they waited for us in the lobby for 10 minutes. The restaurant shut at 8pm, and we weren’t allowed to bring in food from outside or order Rappi. At checkout, they kept us waiting at the counter while they “inspected our room” and wouldn’t let us leave. The beds were basically just a fitted sheet, a throw blanket, and a pillow. It was too hot to use the pillow anyway. I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone, and the staff weren’t very friendly.

Cars and motorcycles kept honking and coming and going until about 3 a.m. I was so uncomfortable with all the noise and movement that I had to stay locked inside, and getting any rest was impossible. There was also a loud, unpleasant party on the property that went on until midnight, though the listing hadn’t mentioned it. When I asked for a refund right away, the host only said they “promise it won’t go past midnight” again. That wasn’t acceptable when guests hadn’t been warned. The place showed clear neglect and poor maintenance. This was one of my worst experiences, and it wasn’t worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The women were nice, but I wouldn’t stay here. The rooms weren’t up to par, had no AC, and seemed poorly maintained. The pictures are misleading.

We stayed two days before leaving Columbia and wished we’d had longer. It’s a nice place to unwind, with a great pool and gardens, and lovely, tranquilo hosts. The only drawback was the lack of hot water in the shower, though that seems to be the case in most places in Columbia.
