Hotel Pereira Central

Being right downtown means plenty is close by, but there’s noise day and night. The room was acceptable, though the service was poor. Breakfast was included, but during our three weeks it was the same eggs, arepas, a slice of fruit, and coffee, with hot chocolate only sometimes. We repeatedly asked for fresh towels, the bin to be emptied, and the floor swept, but staff never had time. The straight-haired woman was the rudest of them all. 😔

At 12:40 p.m. they messaged to warn me I’d be charged for another day unless I checked out right at 1:00. I was already eager to leave, and they showed no empathy about my two-year-old baby. Earlier, at 8:53 a.m., I went for breakfast and was turned away because it ended at 8:50. People were still in the kitchen, but they wouldn’t give me even three minutes. The room was tiny, with my six suitcases filling it, and they refused my request to move. No table or chair, and to charge a phone you have to unplug the TV or fan. On arrival they hadn’t told us the hours, despite seeing my luggage, and the young man did kindly help carry it to the third floor. Booking.com’s photos look much nicer than the actual place. It is well located, but for the same price there are better choices. I don’t recommend it. Service was terrible, and I wasn’t treated this way at any Westin or Hinton.

We stayed as a family and had a miserable time. The sheets were dirty, there were cockroaches, and the rooms had no towels. Staff were rude, breakfast took ages, and parking wasn’t actually on site even though the listing says it’s included. They say the hotel is certified, but they don’t give receipts or ask for information at check-in or check-out. With anyone able to walk in without restrictions, I didn’t feel safe.

The neighborhood felt filthy and unsafe, with shady people, homeless people, and drug use around. Inside, the rooms were dirty and worn, and the blankets made me itch. Staff were awful and seemed always to be trying to overcharge us. We were charged more than the Booking.com price, but paid because breakfast and parking were supposed to be included. In reality, parking was elsewhere through an arrangement with another hotel and cost extra, in a very unsafe area. We’re Colombians and this is how they treated us, so I can’t imagine how foreigners are treated. IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME, PLEASE DON’T MISS IT.
