The owner made the stay especially memorable. They were kind, professional, organized, and knew a lot about Colombia and the local plants and animals. Amalaya Hostel is a wonderful escape from the city, with a great atmosphere, rooms, a pool, and a natural swimming spot. I’d love to thank them for such an unforgettable visit.

Andres really knows the area and is a great guide for outdoor activities. His family has made a peaceful little retreat beside the river, near Villavicencio, far from traffic noise and pollution. We could watch and listen to all kinds of birds, and even spotted little monkeys. There’s a pool too, plus the river as a natural place to swim. Thanks so much, Andres and family, for being such welcoming hosts.

We spent our time reading in a hammock, playing games, cooking together, chatting, and sitting by a bonfire. We also went on a waterfall hike and did some climbing. Andres and his family are incredibly kind, and I’d happily return. The house feels tucked into the jungle, with a river nearby for swimming and relaxing. We spotted birds, monkeys, and capybaras, and there’s a regular pool as well as the natural one. Such a lovely, idyllic place.
