Juan, the owner, was the best part of our stay. He was attentive and so kind, and made us feel at home. The hostel was cozy, with roomy rooms and a comfortable bed, and the free breakfast was a lovely bonus for our trip to Camerones.

After exploring the area and seeing the flamingos in the national park, it was lovely to come back to a clean, cozy room and unwind. This place in Camarones is peaceful, simple, and full of character. I had a wonderful, authentic stay here, and wouldn’t skip it if you’re visiting.

We spent two nights here on a Birding Tours Colombia trip around the Guijira Peninsula. It was quiet despite being close to important birding spots, and the capital of the area was about 20-25 minutes away. Our meals were generous and delicious, with beer and wine available too. The staff and owners were very friendly and made the stay better than we expected. Room #1 was lovely and even had A/C.

The owners are very welcoming, and the place feels like a beachside resort. It’s a great base for seeing the flamingos, and they can arrange that for you. You can also experience Wayuu dance and handbag making and learn more about the culture.

I ate here for most of my meals while I was in the area. The food was good and fairly priced, and they had a vegetarian option. I didn’t stay overnight.
