Delamar Hotel

The staff were the best part: friendly, quick to respond, and so helpful. We don't speak Spanish, so being able to make requests over WhatsApp made things easy. They promptly brought toilet paper and towels and arranged our airport transfer. If they'd messaged a bit earlier, we'd have asked them to set up the ride to the hotel too. If you book the transfer the day you arrive or wait until then, it's much, much cheaper than booking ahead, and even with a wait it's super close. The hotel was very nice overall, and I didn't mind having no windows. It's in an excellent spot, within walking distance of almost everything. The doors were the drawback: hard to open and close, and we often heard them slam from the hallway or upstairs. The noise echoed down and sometimes disturbed our sleep. The jacuzzi needs a reservation, which was totally fine and kept things organized.

A great spot to stay: brand new, with clean spaces and a nice design. The staff were all kind and helpful, and gave us good recommendations. It's close to sprat bight beach, restaurants, stores, pharmacies, and more. Recommended.

My husband and I had booked a week, but by day 4 I was getting quite sick with respiratory symptoms. The next day I was worse, and my husband woke up with the same symptoms. Day 6 was the worst: we couldn't get out of bed and slept from 10pm the night before until 3pm, so we had to cancel our plans. We noticed our symptoms eased when we were outside the room and were worse when we woke up each morning. My mother-in-law wondered if there was mold, so we looked up and found small black dots everywhere. Near the elevators, a storage area had been left open and had really bad mold. As soon as we saw it, we left for my sister-in-law's Airbnb. We told the hotel staff, who said, “yeah it’s an island and it’s really humid, we try our best to manage the mold.” They offered no refund or anything else. It makes me think they knew about it. I posted pictures with this review as proof. Do not book this hotel with mold.

The people were really friendly, and the location is central and convenient.
