Apartamentos Chalet del Mar

The staff were really friendly, and the air conditioner worked great, but I wouldn’t stay again. It’s a very noisy area of San Luis, the rooms need her maintenance, and charging for drinking water is ridiculous.

Just 50 meters from the beach, Chalet del Mar is a hidden gem. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The clean, comfortable rooms have good WIFI and cabel-tv, plus there’s laundry service and affordable scooter rental. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting San Andres who wants to support local businesses away from the tourist traps up north. Hope to see you again soon! Con gusto! 🏝️

We spent 9 nights here and loved how tranquilo it was compared with the Centro. Sound Bay beach is only one block away, and the local bus stops outside and goes downtown as well as all the way to the southern beaches of San Luis. Ingrid, Etilvia, and Carol were all super helpful, and Ingrid had some great suggestions for the rest of our trip. The clean, comfortable apartment had a fully equipped kitchen with everything we could need. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, and the showers get hot, though we didn’t need hot showers much of the time. Thanks for having us. We hope to see you again :)

The ladies working at the property were excellent, but our experience with management was awful. After an aggressive neighbor issue, management made no effort to discuss things with everyone involved, just threats. They wouldn’t negotiate a refund when we asked to move, saying the money was theirs. We left after one night but paid for all 8 days, losing $800US for the week. The location description also wasn’t accurate, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some reviews were fake. It’s isolated, with very few restaurants or tiendas. A nearby tienda only sometimes has bottled water. Taxis rarely pass, and the hotel’s taxi list isn’t reliable because drivers are usually busy. There’s a bus downtown, but it takes 30 minutes. No Uber. A taxi downtown is around 30K pesos each way. For that same price we stayed downtown in an ocean-view luxury apartment with two bedrooms, pools, a gym, and plenty of restaurants and bars. If it’s your first trip to San Andres, I’d avoid making my mistake and staying here. Management was confrontational, aggressive, and abusive to tenants.
