Islanders blue house - Hostel

The location is excellent, close to the center and everything else, and I fully recommend this accommodation. One thing did catch my attention: during my five night booking, they cleaned only once, the day before I left, rather than daily or every other night. I did appreciate that they cleaned while I was there, which reassured me that my belongings were safe.

Everything went smoothly. The room was very basic, which is why I booked it, and it met my expectations. It was very clean, though the roadside location meant it could get noisy early in the morning.

Rooms are spacious and very clean, and the accommodation is affordable. Great service, and they also offer tours! 🫶🏽

We had to switch hotels halfway through the trip after a really bad stay. On the fourth night, while we were asleep, we heard a strange noise. In the morning there was a RAT in our room. With nobody at reception, we couldn't get help and barely slept. There was also a cockroach in the room on night two. The common area was badly maintained and worse than described. The listing said there was a 24-hour reception, but it was hard to find anyone there, and nobody was there at night. The shower was just a pipe, the inside of the shower stall was poorly cleaned and smelly, and there was a hole in the bathroom wall covered with a plastic bag. The location was bad, next to an abandoned lot full of trash. The listing also said kitchen items and a microwave were available, but the dirty, dusty utensils were left out in an open area beside that lot. We lost the morning tour we had planned because we had to find another hotel and move our bags. At checkout, they gave us no compensation for the trouble or the overnight incident, didn't apologize, and said they weren't responsible for insects in the room. We had to pay the full amount for four nights.
