We arrived expecting a suite, but none was available, so they gave us one of their sencilla rooms instead. It was still very nice and cost a fraction as much, so we were happy with that. The staff were lovely, though the restaurant's menu was limited and seemed aimed at an American crowd, with burgers and hot dogs. Finding the hotel at night was awkward, but once we got there it was surprisingly quiet. If you don't want to eat at the hotel, turn left on the main road. There are several lively places to eat a couple of minutes' walk away.

The people are friendly and the place is decent. But the daytime music is played at concert volume, they only accept cash, and breakfast is pretty pathetic.

For a single night it was manageable, but the rooms are in rough shape and the mattresses are especially bad. The hotel is in a good spot, yet it's extremely run down. After hearing what happened to them, I can understand the huge effort it must take to bring the place back, almost like rising from the ashes. Still, it's a bit depressing, and I hope they put more work into restoring it. A dog got lost while I was there, and people came into my room twice looking for it. First the receptionist walked in, then a woman came in overwhelmed, shouting, “Here's my dog!” I thought it would be a small dog, but it was a Labrador. The whole thing was really uncomfortable.
