The public beach is less than a 10 minute walk away, and you’re right among bars and restaurants. It’s a gem if you want to be close to everything happening in Santa Marta, though the surrounding noise may bother people who are sensitive to it. The pool is really more like a small jacuzzi. The rooms are clean by Colombian standards.

A year later, Casa Mia Hotel Boutique replied to my review, saying its refund policy follows the reservation platform’s conditions, that it does its best to help guests find suitable solutions during their stay, and that it was sorry for the discomfort and hoped I’d give it another chance. My response is that they did not do their best to help me. It felt like they did everything possible to avoid helping. I’d never stay here again and would suggest others look elsewhere. If a response after a year shows their level of concern for customers or even their own business, what level of service should you expect? We stayed on January 8. The room was cute but very small, and the air conditioning wasn’t up to the job. There was no hot water, and the Wi-Fi wasn’t working. The pool and hot tub are the same thing, and it isn’t hot. The hotel uses an energy saving setup where you put your room key in a slot to power the room. That’s fine if the AC can catch up after being off all day in the heat, but it couldn’t. We asked to see a room with better AC and were shown another with the same underpowered unit for its size. Did I mention the Wi-Fi wasn’t working? We requested a refund for the second night, but the man at the desk said their policy was no refunds. If you want a small hotel with weak AC that can’t be left on while you’re out, and no refund when you’re unhappy with your stay, this is the place. Enjoy.

We spent a week here, and the location was perfect, with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. The room was super pretty and the AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was good and served early, between 7 and 9 am. The staff were really nice and friendly, and our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels.

The rooms were extremely quiet, and the air conditioning was a great break from the Santa Marta heat. Our room was small and simple but had everything we needed for three nights. The rooftop pool was small but lovely. We enjoyed having beers and bobbing around in it at the end of the day, and the breakfasts were tasty too. We had a great stay at Hotel Boutique Casa Mia. The staff were lovely, and I’d recommend the hotel.
